Are you exhausted or sleepy? There is a difference!

Did you know that there can be a big difference between feeling exhausted and actually needing sleep? Many times when we feel exhausted, it is due to our nervous system being completely worn out from being in Fight-or-Flight all day.
If you do something to transition out of the stress of your day and turn off the Fight-or-Flight, you will most likely experience a reboot, with renewed energy for the rest of your evening! And, you will get so much more out of your sleep! Think about it…normally, sleep should serve to repair and rejuvenate us, so that we wake up feeling totally refreshed the next day…but, because we take on more than our nervous system can handle, it never seems to catch up.
What can you do to turn off Fight-or-Flight and transition out of your stressful day?
Lay on the floor for 10-15 minutes as soon as you get home from work. Do nothing. Don’t even think about what you will make for dinner! Let your body melt in to the floor. Let your nervous system know that it can take a break from running around like a superhuman robot all day!
